For Ukrainian People
I was born in Iran and spent 8 years of my most beautiful days of childhood and teenage under the horrible shadow of the Iran-Iraq war. The word “war” always reminds me of my childish dreams which turned into nightmares. Painfully, what is happening in Ukraine today is for me a deadly repetition of the cries of children, mothers and fathers whose homeland has been devastated by the enemy’s tanks. The presented work is a combination of fingers molded from meta stone powder (Jesmonite powder) along with a cartridge case that is left over from the Iran-Iraq war. The fingers in this work are a symbol of the people who fought for the freedom of their land and lost their lives under the barrage of enemy weapons. The cartridge case installed in the work upside down, in addition to being a symbol of war, also symbolize the peace and the end of war.
